Horse-riding for tourists is a sport that is continually progressing. In Tarifa, the Hotels Dos Mares, Hurricane and El Cortijo Las Piñas, own stables where you can choose horses to ride through the surrounding areas or along the beach. Approximate prices are from 18 Euro to 24 Euro per hour and 60 Euro to 90 Euro per day (this usually includes lunch). Some stables offer more than 1 day excursions which include overnight in hotels or campings.
Andalusian horses are a noble and ancestral horse breed. The main characteristics of a pure-blooded Spanish horse are nobility, beauty, harmony and functionality. Its presence in the Iberian Peninsula dates back to the Roman Empire. It was inter-bred with the Berebere and the Arab during the centuries in which the Arabs inhabited Spain. This mixture gave the heavy autochthonous horse the present elegance and conduct that are necessary for its taming.
They are obedient and easy to mount. So they say, once you have mounted them, it will be difficult to find another breed that will be to your satisfaction. |
