Along the beaches you will find many good spots to practice this 'national sport'. Ask the locals, they are happy to show you some of their tricks... Before tourism invaded Tarifa, the town's unique ressources were its fishing industry. It is still important for it's economy, though, it looses scope since the Moroccan government policy disallows the Spanish boats to fish within their waters.
Sportfishing from boats is becoming increasingly popular in Tarifa, whereby most practiced is the deep sea fishing of pulmón. Durning the summer, some visitors leave their boats in the small port of the town. |
